Friday, March 12: A stroll through Paris

The day began at Saint Domonique,  the group met in front of the school at 8:00. Then Sydney Hect, the leader of the day, took us to the metro where we took the La Defense line to the Hotel de Ville stop. After a quick headcount we were off to explore the city.

Day ten in Paris was a culmination of everything we have learned thus far. Following a short metro ride the group arrived at the Latin Quarter, a typical parisian neighborhood. Here, in one of the oldest parts of Paris, we spoke with shop owners (in french of course) and enjoyed eachothers company.

Throughout our day we stopped along the Seine to marvel at the breathtaking views (and wait for a few stragglers). On Boulevard Saint-Michel  we had lunch  and enjoyed the warm weather. Today we truly began to understand how life here in Paris works.

A great day to sit by the Seine

Although we were’nt touring the great monuments of Paris, we had  fun all the same. Todays take-away is a sense of ownership in our education abroad, and confidence in speaking French to french people.
